Her teaching responsibilities include: cardiac and pulmonary pathology; the principles of pulmonary rehabilitation; exercise testing in individuals with chronic lung disease; and chronic disease management. Currently, the majority of Dr. Camp's time is dedicated to research and clinical practice. In the MPT program she is co-supervising a group of students wtih Dr. Darlene Reid, who are conducting a COPD research study as part of Rehabilitation Research I and II (RSPT 532 and 572).

- Dr. Camp's research interests focus on the diagnosis and management of individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Her current studies include:
- The analysis of administrative health services utilization data to investigate the epidemiology and health outcomes of COPD
- Gaps in the care of COPD
- Risk factors associated with hospitalization for COPD
- Optimal exercise prescription and the measurement of physical activity for COPD patients in hospital and as part of a pulmonary rehabilitation program
- The development of clinical decision-making tools to aid in exercise and activity prescription
Dr. Pat Camp is a physical therapist and clinician-scientist at St. Paul's Hospital. Her position is the first clinician-scientist appointment jointly supported by the Universityof British Columbia Department of Physical Therapy and the Providence Health Care Research Institute. As the clinical-specialist for the Respiratory Rehabilitation Program at St. Paul's Hospital, Dr. Camp directs the clinical care and research activities associated with the program. As such there are opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to participate in research activities which are directly integrated into patient care.
Dr. Camp is currently recruiting trainees who are interested in pursuing graduate studies in the UBC Rehabilitation Science Research Program.
